Eato Calorie Tracker App is a simple and free calorie tracker tool that helps you stay on top of your health goals. You can think of it as a one-stop solution to simplify daily nutrition and calorie tracking.

When you open the app, you'll see your calorie budget and a breakdown of key nutrients like carbs, protein, fat, fiber, sodium, and sugar. To log any foods, you'll simply need to tap on the "+" sign for any meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) and choose your preferred method of logging: AI Scan, Scan Barcode, Food Label Scan, Manual Search, or Describe Food.

Eato also syncs with Apple Health so that you can import health metrics like daily steps or workouts. Based on this data, we'll calculate the calories burned and update the daily calorie budget automatically.

To change your calorie goals, tap on the "Calorie Budget" button located on the top right of your screen under the "Calorie" app section. Click on the "Edit" button and select from "Gentle", "Steady", "Accelerated", or "Extreme" options. You can also choose to customize your daily calorie budget and adjust your macro plan. It's entirely up to you!

Eato provides three simple ways to log your foods: AI Scan, Barcode Scan and Food Label Scan. Here's how to use them:

  1. Open the app.
  2. Tap on the "+" sign underneath the meal you want to log, or tap on the "+" button at the bottom of your screen to access the Quick Log menu.
  3. Upon clicking, you will be redirected to a page where you'll see the following options:
    • AI Scan
    • Scan Barcode
    • Food Label
    • If you're using the Quick Log feature, you'll see a pop-up menu with the same options.

  4. Select your preferred method of logging and follow the instructions. If you are still unsure, click on the "?" button located at the top-right corner of your screen.

If the AI Scan is not detecting the food photo that you've snapped, it could be because the photo taken is not of good quality, or there are too many objects or foods in one frame.

Some quick tips to improve the accuracy:

  • Hold your phone steady when taking the photo
  • Use natural, even lighting. Avoid areas that are too dark or overexposed
  • Make sure that your food item is clearly visible in the frame
  • Try not to have too many foods in one frame. It's better to take one item at a time.

The number of calories that you can eat changes throughout the day because it is updated automatically based on the physical activity and meals that you've logged in the app. It is designed in such a way that you can make better food choices as your day goes on. At a glance, it's influenced by the number of meals logged, exercise synced, and any shifts in your weight, activity level, or eating habits.

Your Calorie Budget is calculated based on your personal health goals. When you first join Eato, you will be redirected to a main screen where you'll answer a few questions for us to better understand what you're hoping to achieve with our app. Based on the inputs, our algorithm calculates a customized calorie plan designed to help you achieve them at a sustainable pace.

Our algorithm factors in your age, weight, height, gender, health goal, and your physical activity level to create a daily calorie budget that will best suit your lifestyle. As your calorie goals, weight loss goals, or logged data change, so will your calorie budget.
